Refund policy

At Melrose Home & Co., we thoughtfully curate products with care and intention. We hope you love every piece you bring into your home. If for any reason you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, please review our Return & Refund Policy below.

1. RETURN ELIGIBILITY

Eligible items may be returned within 14 days of the delivery date.

To qualify for a return:

  • Items must be unused and in original condition

  • Items must be returned in original packaging

  • Tags, labels, and protective materials must remain intact

  • Proof of purchase is required

We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet these requirements.

2. NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

The following items are final sale and non-returnable unless damaged or defective upon arrival:

  • Custom or personalized items

  • Made-to-order products

  • Special order items

  • Digital products or downloads

  • Gift cards

  • Seasonal or holiday merchandise

  • Clearance or final sale items

  • Opened candles, consumables, or personal-use items

  • Design service retainers, consultations, or deposits

3. HOW TO INITIATE A RETURN

To request a return, please contact:

Please include:

  • Order number

  • Item(s) being returned

  • Reason for return

  • Photos, if applicable

Returns sent without authorization may be refused.

If your return is approved, you will receive return instructions and a return authorization.

4. RETURN SHIPPING

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless:

  • The item arrived damaged

  • The incorrect item was received

  • The item is defective upon arrival

We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as Melrose Home & Co. is not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

5. RESTOCKING FEES

A 5% restocking fee may be deducted from eligible refunds to cover processing, handling, and restocking costs.

Restocking fees may be waived at our discretion in certain circumstances.

6. REFUNDS

Once your return is received and inspected, approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within approximately 7–10 business days.

Please note:

  • Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution

  • Shipping charges are non-refundable

  • Refunds may be denied if returned items do not meet policy requirements

If a refund is denied, the item may be returned to you at your expense.

7. DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE, OR INCORRECT ITEMS

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at:

Please include:

  • Order number

  • Description of the issue

  • Clear photos of:

    • The product

    • Packaging

    • Shipping label

    • Any visible damage

Failure to notify us within 48 hours may affect our ability to process claims with shipping carriers or suppliers.

If approved, we may offer:

  • Replacement

  • Store credit

  • Refund

  • Partial refund, where appropriate

8. LOST OR STOLEN PACKAGES

Melrose Home & Co. is not responsible for lost or stolen packages marked as delivered by the carrier.

Customers are responsible for ensuring shipping information is accurate and secure delivery arrangements are available.

If a package is lost in transit before delivery confirmation, please contact us and we will assist in filing a carrier claim where applicable.

9. ORDER CANCELLATIONS

Orders may only be canceled before shipment confirmation is issued.

Once an order has shipped, it is subject to this Return & Refund Policy.

Custom, made-to-order, and special-order items may not be canceled once production or sourcing has begun.

10. REFUSED DELIVERIES

Orders refused upon delivery without prior authorization may be subject to:

  • Return shipping charges

  • Carrier fees

  • Restocking fees

These amounts may be deducted from any eligible refund.

11. CHARGEBACKS & FRAUD PREVENTION

We reserve the right to dispute fraudulent chargebacks and provide supporting documentation to payment processors, including:

  • Delivery confirmation

  • Tracking records

  • Customer communications

  • Order verification information

Customers agree to contact us first regarding order concerns before initiating disputes with their financial institution.

12. DESIGN SERVICES

Interior styling and design services are governed by separate agreements and may include separate cancellation or refund terms.

Consultation fees, retainers, sourcing fees, and deposits may be non-refundable.

13. POLICY CHANGES

We reserve the right to modify or update this policy at any time without prior notice.

Changes become effective immediately upon posting to this page.
